I'm not so happy with mine. For example they make crazy during morning dew. Doesn't want to start work or doesn't want to stop. When light rain starts I have to wait so long time when they activate. How abut yours experiences?

It can be a little frustrating at times but in general, I'm very pleased with mine.
The other day in bright sunshine they did a courtesy wipe. I guess they must have figured that there was a bit of dust on the window since it sat in the garage for 3 days.:D By the way, I do not have the 'Courtesy Wipe' feature set to active. I know that some people has disabled the 'Rain Sensing' feature and choose to do it manually.

I have had this feature on other cars and the EX's are the best I have had. I like being able to adjust the sensitivity. My wife's Lexus waits a little too long before swiping. I do get some unexpected wipes on clear days. Oddly enough it seems to happen on the same road. Maybe it is the tree cover that causes the false detection. I also like the courtesy wipe after using the washer.

Compared to a couple BMW's I've had, the Explorer's are great. BMW you have to enable the auto wipers by pushing a button on the stalk...everytime you turn the car off...it's turned off.

I like that the Explorer's is always on....so when that bucket of paint falls on your winshield on the highway, the wipers get it off right away. ;)

I also love that the wipers turn the headlights on...drives me nuts to see people driving in rain with no wipers...including my wife.

I have to chuckle at the "courtesy wipe" feature. I fairly certain I read in the manual not to run the wipers over a dry windshield as it could cause scratches, yet mine does a "courtesy wipe" every now and then on a dry windshield.

Other than that, I have been pretty happy with the performance of the auto-wipers. You can adjust the sensitivity using the collar on the wiper control stalk.

Love mine. I think they do a good job of not only timing when to come on and go off, but also of changing speeds to match the amount of water on the windshield. Having them makes me want the rear wiper to be rain sensing also. Boy I'm getting lazy! ;)

I gotta be doing something wrong then. Mine are a mess. I have to keep them set on minimum "auto" or they're swiping all the time when it's dry. And, by keeping them on minimum auto they are not sensitive to rain at all; it's gotta be pouring before they'll swipe light rain.

While on the topic, anyone familiar with the size of the left and right wipers and suggestions of upgraded wipers? I liked the single piece design on my VW. Going by Ford PArts there are three different sizes, 20 inces, 22 inches and 24 inches.

Do a general google search for this. There are silly things like using rainx over the sensor might throw it off. I had the windshield replaced in my BMW and the wipers were never the same afterwards. The sensor is embedded in the glass behind the rearview.
