Hi! new member here! Don't own an explorer right now, but actively seeking one. Prefer the 1994 and older body style, so that's what I am looking for.

I work for Ford, and have owned/driven one Ford or another all my life, just never an explorer. I hear bad things about the auto trannies...Owned a '92 Ranger Ext. cab 4X4 with the A4LD that wasn't much count..any hints on what to look for/avoid? or should I just hunt for a manual trans?

Welcome to the board! The a4lde is a pretty good trannie IMO. There a ton around that have never given any trouble. Besides, we have a thread on rebuilding one. Good luck in finding the truck you want. Try looking in our classified section!
