well new here i hope you all can help me out a little, so i got a 98 sport ex a few weeks ago and having a few little issues, first if i hammer the gas sometimes it will spit and spudder {buck} and my speedometor and odometer dont work half of the time and my check engine light just came on, now i did notice when my speedomoter is working and it starts to buck it drops to zero any ideas, i did read somewhere it might be my map sensor

Welcome to this forum! Just out of curiosity, try to adjust the tilt steering column the next time you have any of these issues. Sometimes bad wiring in the steering column could cause intermittent power glitches which cause erratic shifts, cruise control, and the speedometer dropping out. Find out what the code numbers are for the check engine light.

You need a scanner to retrieve the codes. Autozone or other auto parts stores will read the codes for free.

i dident even think about going to autozone for the codes...thanks ill do that this weekend and i tried the steering tilt and it dident work so ill wait till i have it read and see what i need
