HP and TQ for '97 XLT 5.0L V8

I have no idea what the horsepower or torque will be on a 1997 XLT 5.0L V8. I cant find a place with a AWD dyno. Thanks

At the flywheels it makes 215 HP and 288 ft. lbs. of torque. But I've seen magazines selling the explorer engine with an E-cam and they rate them at 270. IMO, those numbers are underrated like most fords.

As for a AWD dyno, you can just remove the front driveshaft and run it like that.

I have thought about removing the front driveshaft but i need to know how to do it. I also have been wondering if you remove the front driveshaft, will just having the back driveshaft on gain more hosepower. You know what im trying to say.

If you disconnect the front driveshaft then you would see an increase in the amount of power that hits the pavement in that you wouldn't have the frictional losses from the front part of the drivetrain, but it gets you pretty darned close. A well maintained EX should only lose fractional (less than 1) up to maybe a couple of horses/ft*lb of torque to the front part of the drivetrain.
