my sploder started makin this chattering noise comming from underneath the engine. i told my hubby bout it, so he told me to start it so he could hear where it was comming from. well he goes underneath it puts a screw driver to his ear and to the lower part of the engine block near the timing chain. and he says its the chain chattering. but this doesent make sense being that my truck only has 60k miles on it. is ther a common problem with the explorers having chattery chains. oh yea he also says that since its a sohc (what ever that means) the engine has to come out to change it.
he just asked me to ask if there is any way to tighten the chain if this is the problem.
one more thing. the sound goes away when i give it gas past 1000rpm's. thanx
