The only difference to our vechile is that it is right hand drive.Apparently they make them right hand drive over there before they are exported.

Latest Update

We have spoken to another dealer..... who knows all about the recall and tsb. We are now taking our X there on monday. He has repaired other X with the same problem and had all costs covered by ford.
So as long as the timming chain guides are the problem looks like all will work out great.
Here in Australia he says Ford have been covering the cost of front and back guides, if they are damaged.
Thanks again everyone for your help
:D

arn't we lucky to live in australia you go to 10 different dealers & get 11 different answers as i said when they did mine 6 weeks ago no problem then the other day i ring them back & they dont even know about and ford wonder why they are behind in the sales race against holden(GM) & toyota they would probably even sell afew more X's if ppl didn't get stuffed around like poor old chow
anyway chow i hope you get i fixed foc while you have got it there, see if you can get them to clean the injectors for $0 my dealer did it for me theres no harm asking

now you blokes in the USA see what we have to put up with just to keep these things on the road

so far my x is a bloody good car (lets take a small moment to pray it stays that way)

We will pray!!!!!!!

for yours as well as ours.
We are going to try to get them to do as much as we can!!!
Our X was running great till all this started. Its good though to hear other AUSSIES have managed to get the dealers to fix their Xs with no charge to them!!!
We would love to know if there are more AUSSIES out there that have managed to succeed in getting Ford to cover the costs.
The X is a great car but we agree if there was not so much stuffing around we would all be a lot happier and Im sure people would be more interested in Buying them here.
The thing that concerns us though is around Melbourne you are seeing a lot more of the Newer and older Xs on the road, I feel sorry for these people when they start to get the run around.... because no doubt as we all know they will do it if they can get away with it. So lets make a stand make all fellow Aussie X owners aware of these situations.

arent the warranties up on your vehicles? cause here in the states if your one mile or one day over the warranty peroid....well your SOL. some of the smaller dealers will do it if the milage or date is close but more than likely the techs. are less than competent. i woldnt mind dealing with what you guys are going through to get a $1500 job for free. besides, we go through that crap here too....maybe not as much but we know how it is.

well at any rate...good luck w/ your X, hope it all works out

fordkrazy

As far as what we have found out is that the 01M01 is under 100,000 miles or 7 years extended warranty in America.
here it is 135,000 kms which is 83,000 miles or 4 years.
So the contraversy being that the manufacturers warranty is more than what they are giving us here in Australia. Because the Xs are a fully imported vechile we are going for the manufacturers warranty .... by the looks of it all costs will now be covered by ford.:D

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

We did it !!!!! we managed to get FORD AUSTRALIA to pay for all repair costs to our vehicle thanks to everyone who emailed/ or gave us through here any information we appreciate it. We will start a new thread to let everyone know how we did it!!!!!!! And perhaps help other Australians with the same problem. Job Total $2500 aus
Thanks Again Everyone:D

Congradulations on your successfull battle with Ford
