my 95 recently began having a wierd problem where there is a loud humming sound at idle or a little above idle when the truck is really hot. It happens when sitting in trafiic, on a warm startup, or just whenever it feels like it. i tried to locate the sound, only to find the entire air intake tube to be vibrating at a very high frequency as is the noise. i checked the air cleaner and stuff..it was all fine. I am lost for ideas..please help!

Thanks a lot Billy...I'll look into that.

Check out this thread.

A couple of us all had the same problem. Most of us fixed it by replacing the IAC valve. Cheack out the thread "Howling Explorer !?!?!? ". That should do it.

IAC Valve change works! I just replaced mine yesterday, and today was plenty hot, and no more "Airwolf".

The old one was very dirty, and so was the hole it plus into. Plenty of black gunk.

Go for it!

Well, I pulled my IAC off and blasted it out woth TB cleaner. reinstalled it and will see hopw it does over the next week! Thanks!
