Decided to stop spending on the Ex until it passed it's MOT - not that I was worried of course!
Including a service from a little garage near me £510 (minor ouch). But that did get me the MOT, a few litres of oil, 2 bulbs, 6 new platinum plugs & leads and some new rear brake pads - hey the handbrake does work!
Couple of advisories - one of the spot lights was out and badly corroded so they disconnected the other one - a trip to the bay should solve that, slight corrosion on the chassis - no worries; and a corroded outer cover on one brake pipe. They said let it it go for the moment but maybe next year plan to replace it if it looks worse.
It now fires before it's even crankled once, and sounds really really quiet.
