ok.. Here I go, I've search and searched, but could not find anything on here. I have a 97 limited with EATC. It is not a blend door problem cuz I have 100% temp control. The problem I am having is after driving for 45 or more minutes the air stops coming out of the vents. When this happens my blower still runs strong I can crank it all the way up and turn it all the way down. But no matter what speed I set the fans to the air flow through the vents stays the same (very little). When this happens it always sounds like a door in the plennum closes, stoping the air flow because of the excess noise coming from the glove box area. The problem only happens when driving for long periods of time. And after turing the car off for a few minutes the problem is gone. PLEASE HELP

Sounds like a low A/C refrigerant charge issue. Frequently what happens is after a while the evaporator coil freezes restricting the airflow, sometimes after running the fan on a lower speed. Look for signs of refrigerant oil around each of the fittings on the system. Pay special attention to the accumulator tank since it is made of steel and tends to rust out under the insulation.

Just want to confirm... the accumulator tank is the small bottle like think on the passenger side under the hood, Moisture on the accumulator tank is good or bad? My knowledge of the air conditioning system is limited... how will Under charging the system cause the evaporator coils to freeze? But what you are saying sounds right. I could see how the air flow is stopped after long travel times and restored after a few minutes being off. Oh and b4 I forget thanks for the help.

Hey papa, Ive checked under the hood and found no leaks in the ac system.
