Well i changed my t-stat and that fixed my heater,but now i noticed that when i move the selector to the floor that it stays blowing out the defrost,and selection 3 doesnt blow any harder than the highest setting..I was wondering if i have a faulty control panel? 2005 4.0 4x4

I have a similar problem in my 99 XLT, mine will blow harder 1-4, but it doesn't come out of the floor, only the defrost, regardless of what selection I have it on. One of my hoses blew for the heater core, so I have fixed that, and the vacuum switch that opens up the coolant to the core (I would assume, and no it's not backwards) I also replaced my thermostat.

it's most likely a vacuum leak under the dash somewhere. switching between floor/defrost/vent is controlled by vacuum...
