On my '10 Explorer, the air flow will change from the front vents to the floor for about 12 seconds then return to the front vents. It does it once or twice a trip, and I notice it more when the AC is on. I don't think it is the blend door actuator because I can move the temp control all the way up and down without hearing the tell-tale clicks and the air is cold when it comes back through the front vents (I cannot tell the temp when it is on the floor). I have the dual temp digital controls.
Anyone have an idea where to start looking?

thx

I had a similiar issue and didn't have the clicks either. Went under the hood and disconnected the vacuum line that operates the system (passenger side of engine, 90 degree elbow) released the vacuum, reconnected it and had no issues. My exploder still does the weird floor/defrost or doesn't blow on the drivers floor intermittantly I just pop the vacuum line off and back on.

Thanks, maybe a check valve?
