Ok here it goes, please bear with me. I would like to be able to raise my explorer for big off-road tires and lower for street tires. I like to raise it maybe 3-4" and lower 1-2". I don't know that much about hydraulics and I don't even know if is possible. Also, I am not too sure how the ride would be if this type of system is in place. The price for something like this must be up there, but let's not talk about that right now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Drew

Drew, there is an other thread regarding hydraulics with the same title a little bit further down in this chapter. If I would know how to make a direct link to this thread, I would do it, but I'm not that advanced :o

Your best bet is probably get one of the low rider magazines and talk to the hydraulics people or shops in the magazine. Those guys sure know how to do hydraulics for their cars. I saw that they can raise their cars up to 8" and dp jumping jacks with their cars. You've to give it to them for ingenuity. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!!

However, I don't think the hydraulics set up will work to well under off-road conditions (i.e. dirt, extreme load, extreme angles, flex, etc.). Ya know, with the hydraulics set up, instead of getting stuck in the rocks, ya can just hop your way out of it!!!
