this really sucks. it was about this time last year that i hydrolocked my first engine. my dads gonna kill me, and prob. sell my truck. last time i was stock, this time i had bl and 33s...but still sunk it pretty good. i tried pulling the plugs, but it doesnt crank. im praying its not cranking cause the starters done, and i dont need a new engine. if i do, it will prob be sold as is with no engine. who knows what will happen, ill keep u updated.

Good luck with it man. I know all about it. It's so freakin easy to do it too :(

Did it cut off when you got stuck?

i went threw the puddle twice, and was fine, than the 3rd time i went threw and the front end went under a little, and it just killed, i was stuck in the middle of the puddle. ill show pics in a few days. hopefully i can crank it and get the water out, and no rods are bent. dont want to have to buy a new engine. as soon as its fixed im gonna be putting in a snorkle like lizards. im praying that my engine will work.

I feel your pain, done that once...not fun

Was the motor revving when it died? Did it cut out all at once?

it cut at once...if i need a new engine i got to get it out of a 95-97? i cant get one from 1st gen right?

If you have V6 OHV then I guess you can any V6 OHV from years 91 to 00. If you have V6 SOHC I guess you can put any V6 SOHC from 95 and up. I think that even V6 OHV may fit if you have a V6.

My cousin did that exact same thing, same description a couple of weeks ago. Ended up being alright, about 140 dollars, and the labor was free. Exact same engine problem too, wouldnt crank at all. Goodluck.

If you don't want to mess with swapping the intake and exhaust around, get one from a 95 or 96.

damn chaz you need to stay away from the water.... have you tried pulling a 3/4" ratchet on the crank and turning it? Thats a good way to tell if the motor is locked up or not.

Good luck, I had the luck when i went through about 3' of water and flooded my ride totally, that day sucked big time! gl

i put a breaker bar on the crank. its locked up. need to get a new motor most likely...anyone know where to get a motor for my car for no more than 500?
