I think that I hydrolocked my engine.

hello! just reading about hydrolocked moters. our explorer wont turn over after going thru a deep puddle. starter is good, pulled it out and checked it at the auto shop. moter just wont turn. also anti-freeze dripping down from somewhere.

Pull the plugs and run the engine. You should be able to get most of the water out that way. If the engine still won't turn over than you have definitely locked it up.

we tried that. nothing happens when starter is engaged. just a click from starter itself.:(:(

thanks 4 the suggestion Willard! we will try that today. we are having it towed to our house this afternoon. my brother also wants to pull off the oil pan to see if there are any metal shavings. any more suggestions please let us know. thanks!:salute:
 






Stick a wrench on the front pulley of the motor and see if it will turn by hand. Do it with the spark plugs out and it shouldn't take too much force.

Before doing this, first check the oil to make sure its not filled up with water.
