I've searched and searched but can't find a thread I know is here somewhere. Someone wrote a how to on rebuilding an 8.8 Posi Trac using some of the old clutches in addition to the new ones in order to increase the initial "bite" if you will, of the diff. Something about replacing a couple of the new steel plates with friction plates in order to not put two steels together in the pack. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I really want to find that thread or something similar. Please direct me. I promised I searched forever.

Thanks, very similar. I think there are some small, additional mods required in order to pull off the new arrangement of the discs though. I believe the author of the thread I'm thinking of ended up with at least one extra disc in the pack than is supposed to be in there.
