My gas tank doesn't vent properly or something when trying to put gas in it. With the nozzle all the way in the tank you can't hardly put gas in it at any speed without the nozzle clicking off constantly as if it the tank was full eventhough it isn't. I have to pull the nozzle out as far as I get it and not set the nozzle any higher than one noch for it to fill up without clicking off. And a lot of times it still clicks off constantly. I have to hold it half way to the first noch to get gas in it. It's very annoying. Does anyone else have this problem?

I came up with putting the nozzle in just enough so that it held itself in, then most of the time held to the second or third auto position worked.

But yes, it's been discussed before that Explorers can be a bit difficult to fill.

Yeah that's what I do. I can't put it past the first auto position, and sometimes even not there. My older Xs didn't have this problem.

I think its a Ford problem in gereral. I know with my old diesel, my dads diesel, and our service truck, same thing. With the service truck we keep a piece of 4x4 in the back and drive the rear tire on it (same side as filler cap), though I doubt you will want to do this.
