I changed my own plugs & coils- 2 issues

I guess it depends largely on where you are and the reputation of the dealership. I have a 2012 F150 in the bay right in front of me getting a customer pay 5.0 replacement. We have a pretty good mix of customer pay and warranty work.

Let me hijack this thread now :)
What happened to that 5.0 ?
As you know, an F-150 with the Coyote is one of the top lines on my car replacement list.

There was a cylinder #4 misfire that wouldn’t go away no matter what.

Thanks
And it warrantied a new engine ?
Was the head pulled ?

The truck has about 200k (but is surprisingly clean) ...the owner was given the option of a tear down/rebuild vs. engine replacement, the latter having less down time. There is a business name on the door, we all know time is money.

Thanks
Probably rare case, 200k is not that excessive for that class of v8.
Will you have a chance to examine the old one ?
Valves, rings .....just curious waht that was.

The service advisor handling it also said #4 had low compression as well. The old one is just a core now, it will just get packed up and sent back to Ford.
