Well last Wednesday night my beloved first truck decided that it has had enough of this world, while the girl I'm seeing in the car with me on our way to my house. Shut off in the middle of the road. Thanks to a good semertian we were able to push it out of the intersection where she had her last rights and onto the side of the road.

Mechanic said timing chain went(shocking I know) Thus ka-putting my motor, no motors in the area to throw in even if there was I doubt I would replace it since it's old.

So for the past few days she has been kind enough to let me borrow her car to get to my classes and work since she lives on campus.

I pick up my Subaru on Monday and am torn as to what the best way to recoup some of my money I have sank into it(brakes, tires, T-case rebuilt 2 years ago, tranny rebuilt 2months ago) I've been told just take it to pick-n-pull or put it in my lawn for a sign that says 1500 or best and hope for a grand. Any suggestions?

It's been nice chatting with a few of you. :salute:

Well I'd say fix it! But I guess I'm closer to my truck than you, guess you could take it to a junk yard or start parting it out. Up to you honestly, probably more money if you part it out, but it'll take longer and take more work

sell it yourself

In this area you would be lucky to get $150 from a salvage yard. I suggest that you try to sell it yourself as is. You might find someone with mechanical skills and time to repair or swap the engine. If it's not rusted you could sell it for $800.

Now to much rust on the body, a few "black eyes" but other than that its solid. I don't have the time, room or skill to fix it myself or else I would consider it. I was looking at buying a newer vehicle thats better on gas since I have a new job requiring an hour commute 3-4times a week so this was just the nail in the coffin so to speak.

I'm trailering it home tonight gonna put an ad on craigslist and see if I can get something for it, hopefully enough to pay for few months of car payments.
