I live in Switzerland and over here we dont have our blinker amber lights on (not blinking) when you turn on your lights.
 I hope you know what i try to explain, its kinda hard:confused:
OK, I think its pretty cool :D to have additional aber lights on when driving. Especially when noone has it over here.
so my point ist how do I change the blinkers to be on all of the time? Without losing the turns signal feature of course.

Help wanted

It might be cool but I'm pretty sure that it's illegal over there. And i remember that the swiss cops are not the easiest...
Anyway you're up to some serious re-wiring, probably replacing the blinkers housings with some US ones to be able to fit the correct bulbs...
Don't have time to explain everything right now, check your e-mail and get back to me.

Neil,

After I droped you my e-mail, I just was thinking that the easiest way would be to replace your white "Standlichtglübirnchen" with amber light bulbs. You will have a problem getting them in Switzerland and yes, they are illegal (a friend of mine is a "flic" - cop in French ;) - in Neuchâtel)

I don't know if somebody could post a link to a diagram of the US front wiring loom for you to check whether they altered it or not. Or you order the Chiltons or Haynes Explorer manuals; they don't sell them in the Swiss book stores, but normally they can order them for you.

Or, you come to the States for an Explorer run and see for yourself!! :D

Just my 0.2 Swiss Francs ;)

Parking lights

Yeah i believe that what i was thinking of are what you call parking lights. Or is it the running lights?
Oh well, i can just as well forget it.
It was just a simple thought of "how can i visually upgrade my X with very little effort."
But this seems to be a big issue.
I'll check the haynes manual i ordered last week from amazon (which still isnt in my mailbox)
thanks for your help!

And hey im planning to come over to the US&CDN in fall so maybe ill do some serious exploration then.(On a Rental X i guess. My suitcase is too small for my truck)

i think what neil wants is to have day running lights (day runners)... someone should know how, but i'm sorry, i don't :(

Wait, the euro x headlights are different? does anyone have a pic of it?

Dead Link Removed

This is the Euro version of an 94 X.
I drive one of these.
1 Modification: I replaced the grille with a US X chrome one.

hey that looks like a standardized hedlight assembily, kinda like the cherokee. dosen't sylvania have a clear, HID kit for that? Take a look at the website:
http://www.sylvania.com/xenarc/prodinfo.htm so if youcan get a euro headlight bracket, you can finally get HID clear lights!:bounce:
