I think you have it backwards... unless your wife is a really good driver, best plan is to give her the ridiculously capable rig, and you drive the less capable one that requires more skill to get through the obstacles.. if you want her to keep up at least.

then again, i cant seem to get my wife to drive an off road truck separate from me anyhow. she just wants to ride along. then complains when its bumpy (and its always bumpy)
