nothing special.... cut-off wheel to get shape.... as far as square holes... that took a while. I had to drill a hole in the center then take a jig saw to remove must of the material then vile by hand... go the bent by sticking in the vise and putting a adjustable wrench on the other end... and bent til the angle is right..
that's exactly where i have mine, only i have a piece of metal with a tractor-trailor mirror mount clamped on. it's really wobbly, i need to try something else. but yours looks good, i'd like to see how you get the antenna secured on there.
Nice! If you can use that middle hole to put another bolt, it might be worth it... the wind will really pull at the cb antenna. What type of cb do you have?
Is it strong enough to hold up against the antenna hitting trees, garage door, ect.. and not bending? That was always my question with this style cb antenna holder. It looks great though.
But if he put a third bolt, another strip of metal on the outside of the tail lamp (where the bolts are) and added a heavy metal L bracket inside the assembly, he should be okay, no? plus added a weld to fill some of the empty space...
