What are you trying to do? Remove them, make new ones, fix bent ones? A little more info helps.

leave them were they are. any thing you do will only make them weakier.

just cut some diamond plate to fit.

well ill ask ya not to leave it down, even with diamond plate as a back, it looks stupid......... from my own experience. I have made soem brackets, that i found the palns for on here, Just do a serach for "Body Lift Bumper Brackets" or "bumper brackets". And mine i really cant tell are anyweaker, but the only thig i pull is our four wheelers. and 18ft boat, but thats all off the bumper. SOem might not suggest it, and i prolly do to, but hey its the only way for us, since i dont want a hitch....
