ok here is what the problem is, my 4wheel drive hasnt worked good since i got it, sometimes it will go in and sometimes it wont. so i started to take the electronic 4wheel drive shift motor apart to clean it up, becuz i beleive that is the problem, i think its just all gummed up inside, well there is one wire that goes straight into the transfer case, so the queston i have is, can i just cut that, and then soder it back together when im done, or will that cause problems? anyhelp will be greatful, i got mad at it and left, so now 3 other ppl are working on it that dont know anymore about it than i do, cuz they are all chevy guys. thanks alot.

While you can of course cut the wire and resolder it later (dont forget the heat shrink tubing too ;)), see if theres some sort of disconnect first.

cool thanks alot, thats all i was wandering.

The wire can be removed without cutting.. The wires are held in place by the connector picture below. You just need to pry out the Red center section which locks them in place. Of course if you have already cut the wire you will need to splice it back on.. If so you may want to use bullet connectors and shrink tubing so a subsequent removal will be quick and easy...

BTW If you haven't already you should take a peek at the shift motor rebuild tread for lots of info and pics on getting the shift motor working again.
