I need help with my temperature gauge.

hi i have a 95 explorer ed bower ed. 4.0 and my temp gauge stayes pegged all the time took inst. panel apart and temp needle moved in to normal range put it all back and started vehicle and needle pegged out again it does not move motor is not overheating and warms up quick 000temp gage is not working what could it be i want to get it fixed soon so i dont end up toasting my engine want it fixed so i can go 4x4ing soon:exp:

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the stock 95-01 section. Which part of NY do you live in? Did you check the sending unit before you opened the dashboard to check the gauge?
 






Sounds like the problem I had with mine. It is probably the sending unit. it is an easy change. I however went on better and replaced my factory temp gauge with an Autometer one on the piller.
