My Ranger is a regular cab, so the rear speakers are at floor level between the seats and the back wall of the cab. In other words, they are crammed in there and muffled by the seat backs and whatever junk I happen to have stored behind the seats. So they are pretty ineffective.

I just have the stock Ford system, with upgraded front speakers, and a small (25W per channel) amp.
Between the wind noise and tire noise, I can't hear alot of the lower range of sound, so I'm thinking, why not just put some bass speakers in the rear stock location to compensate.

I don't know crap about current audio equipment, so can you recommend something in a 5X7 that's fairly inexpensive?:)

How about a set of those Jensens that we got for your wife's truck? I put a set in Splat's rear and really like them.

BTW, how's "Big Whitey" doing?

Yeah, that's an option, but everything but the bass range will be wasted. That's why I'm wondering if there is a 5x7 that is bass only, or something like that.

You could get a small 5" or 6" round woofer, but you'd need to fab up a mounting plate. That wouldn't be too hard for you though.

Okay, I'll look into that. Sounds like what I want.

Thanks, Alec The Answer Guy! ;)

Get Focals!!! I have the polykev's and they are the best I've ever heard. They also make some cheaper ones (if $450/pr isn't your dice,) Polyflex I believe and they come in 5 1/4" speakers.
