Here's the scoop. My bro twisted the torsion bar a while back, and i dont know how much. i need to put it back to stock height so i can then put it to 2". I have a 1998 XLT 4 door, so if anyone has stock front suspension still, could you please measure from the TOP OF THE RIM to the LIP OF THE FENDER and post it here? thanks very much!

All X's sit slightly differently. My advice it to match the front to whatever the rear is.

well, the rear is currently lifted with autozone extended shackles, and if i take them off, i think the leaf springs have sagged a bit... im just looking for a ballpark figure.

if you DO NOT have the automatic ride control:
Measure the distance between the center of the lower control arm bushing bolt and the ground and record this measurement as A
Measure the distance between the lowest point of the steering knuckle but not the ball joint and the ground and record this measurement as B
Subtract B from A.
It should be between 4.33 and 4.56 inches.

The above information is taken fron Chilton's Manual for the Ranger/Explorer/Mountaineer 1991 - 1999 repair manual. The above was regarding explorers with a torsion bar setup for the front suspension.

Regarding your question: I measured mine (the way you said to) and my driver's side was 10 and 5/8 inches and my pass side was 11 inches. So that doesnt help you much
