by giving my truck a good detailing job yesterday! We were having perfect weather, no forecast of any bad weather, so I went ahead and washed i, inside and out, really well. Last night it decided to rain and kept raining until this morning around 10. No big deal, I just dried it off, good as new. ABout noon (just as I was finishing my dfrying job and admiring my work) it rained again, tila bout 2:00, looked again, not a cloud in the sky, so I dried it off again. Took about an hour and a half but got it all dried off, started admiring my work again and bam, clap of thunder, in comes more rain. It's my own fault, I caused the rain :)

I find that detailing, especially on the night of a car show, is a GREAT way to end droughts...............:D

If that is the case Matt, come up here and wash my truck. We got a little spinkle and that was it. It is just cold and that is it.

Can you believe it was 80's yesterday and today not hardly 50.

Gees Matt,

Stop you're crying and go mudding. :)

See, always need to find a plus in a negative.

Dont feel bad Matt it happens to me all the time too. :)

i'll wash and wax my explorer, and by the end of the day you can write your name in the dust sticking to it:( .
my explorer is like a magnet for dust and dirt. i've always hear black is hard to keep clean, but this is ridiculous:mad:

rain would be nice.... i'd rather have it wet and shiny than dull and dusty. i have to wax my explorer just about every week to keep a shine. this week i waxed it twice (tuesday and today).

leenjen, for dust you oughtta try the california car duster, I use it after a good wash when it gets dusty.
Water wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the nasty spots it ALWAYS leaves.

Hey Matt, have you met Cameron on here? You guys would really get a long.

Wait until it snows, wash it and the next weekend you'll have roadsalt all over.

RAIN!? I wish we could get rain. I have tried but no response from the weather gods. Rain would be good right about know, since there are many forest fires arind an smoke is like fog here:(

Ohhhhhh, I just gotta be mean here......I spent the evening perched on the back of a beautiful 67 Gt500 Mustang watching fireworks as close as the fire Marshall would allow, enjoying the 77 degree, clear and starry night and the company of over a thousand classy classics..........:p

............now it's gonna rain on the explorer I just finished detailing.............

Just get everyone in town to wash their cars, that should do it......

MY GOD! You got to see a Shelby GT500 let alone touch it? You are maybe one of the luckiest people I have ever seen. A GT500 is by far one of my most favorite cars of all time. Especially a '67. What color was it (please say silver) and what engine did it have (please say 428)?

I've got an idea Matt....just have a crappy paint job, stained hood, and a key mark going around the whole body of the X. That way, you don't ever have to wash it, because even if you do, it won't make it look any better :D

I'm thinking about calling my X "stripes," I figure it'll go well with the keying that I'm not going to get fixed....I think she looks fine as is... Any comments on that? :p

Tough luck on the washing Matt, we got a lot of rain too...Funny how Colorado weather is...

Jared, the F-150 is the one I keep clean. The explorer (despite what you saw in the video) gets cleaned about once a year... if that... the last itme I washed it (other then the video) was so I could use the power-washer to get off as much of the old duplic-color bed-liner stuff form my grill and headlight trim as possible, plus I use it for cleaning the rear drums.

We have quite a few wild Horses roaming around here...the 67Gt500, 2 68Gt's- one a 350 and one a 500KR, who knows how many 66's and 65's, a gorgeous 69 Boss 302......
The one at the show was the original Lime Gold paint with white racing stripes like my X has-2" spacer, 10" stripe. It had some custom work done to the Engine-the guy who owned it was very nice and we leaned against it whilst watching the fireworks-he said it had something like 600hp on the Dyno
It was funny to watch him race his wife after the show-she has a 1998 Cobra and kicked his butt once she caught up with him, lol!

But boy did it RAIN here today-hadda flood watch out all evening. But I got to breeze past a Blazer that got stuck in the mud when a local bridge overflowed...yeah, boyeeee! :D

Oh yeah, I asked the guy if he had a fit when Gone in Sixty seconds came out....he said that it's funny when he's cruising down I-95-he'll suddenly find himself surrounded by other cars, all peering through their windows at him!
;)
