2021 Ford Explorer XLT
We intentionally bought big red (our 2021 Ford Explorer XLT) from Athens Ford because they offered the lifetime drivetrain warranty. The conditions are you have to have it serviced (not necessarily by Ford) but by a legitimate place that can give us a receipt stating the miles, and the oil used during that oil change. So if any of you have experience with those "lifetime offers", please educate me.

That would be the same as Ford's powertrain warranty I'm guessing. Was it an extra cost or included with the vehicle purchase? Who backs this warranty? The dealer, Ford? So-called 3rd party warranties always seem to be undesirable according to many posts I've read here but I have no experience with them and only buy the manufacturer's extended warranties.
It will be interesting to see other replies and your experiences with the warranty should you ever have to use it.

I hope you have documentation. "lifetime" sounds too good to be true.

It was offered by the dealer. Athens Ford in GA. If you go to their website they are proud of it.

That is just a sales tool. Read the fine print as to what is covered. Most of these lifetime scams only cover mechanical parts and no electronics.
