so today i realized that i used 85w 140 non synthetic lubricant in my front and rear differentials. i thought i used 75 w 140 but i happened to look at the title on the leftover lubricant jug..... so yea.
ive put about 10000 miles on them since two years ago when i was doing my suspension work. i put a limited slip rear with discs from a 97 in my 94, not sure if that makes a difference.
i was always wondering why my rear diff would weep fluid out of the breather tube constantly... maybe this is the cause?
so, how badly does this affect the gears? and, other than a normal fluid change that may or may not actually clear all the old fluid out completely, how can i switch over to snythetic properly?
thanks as always
