I wanna do a Winch hey Jason

I'm looking into this too... does anyone make a winch bumper for the explorer? ARB has a REAL nice one, but they don't make one for explorers :( . Any that do?

Sorry for the slow reply. The front tow hooks are chevy, I liked them because there bigger and heavier. I'll look thru my receipts and see if I can find the Warn front receiver model number. Bought the tow hooks and front receiver off ebay.

i'm thinking you could adapt an ARB pretty easily. just find one that matches the width of the truck then modify the mounts accordingly.

i agree the ex does look pretty tight. is that black magic sitting next to you at the show?!?

eh, that may be a little beyind me at this point, custom metal work (welding, etc.) isn't really on my screen right now. But I'd love to see someone else do it :D

Now this is a winch bumper! :D

That's realy nice. Who makes that? I'm interested

TrailReady , it's originally for the Ranger...keep in mind I had to have plates welded to the front of my rails to bolt it on.

Buy a Warn winch itself... much better than ramsey...

Custom Made - Tenikiwon Gets a Winch!!!

Sweet. Love it. What size tires you got? and how much bl? Also, what did you pay for the winch and ect.?

33x12.5 BFG ATs on Stock rims
3" BL
1.5 to 2" TT
AAL originally gave me 2", but I think they've settled some.

It's a MileMarker E9000, they have deals almost everywhere for $449 with free shipping.

front end hitch??

hey andrew

did u do that front end hitch yourself?

cause i've been looking at a drawtite one really hard just so i'll have a place to take the winch off when its not needed, drawtite front end hitch only 100, plus 50 more for winch adapter?

just curious if u've gotten good use out of it, and how it has held up?
thanx -jared

I had it made by my buddy, 'cause I can't weld (no welder). I JUST put it on today so I haven't gotten ANY use out of it. LOL

You can buy a drawhitch front reciever for $130 but that's stock (no body lift) and a winch mount will run you 'bout $80. I don't know how much all the stuff I'm having him do will end up costing so I don't know how much I saved, but it's done, and done right! :D

The trans4mers are weak. I bent the crap out of mine while on the Naches trail in WA.

I'm surprised at that. Warn is usually pretty good. What is it rated for? I mean, did you abuse it, or did it malfunction under normal operation? Did you try to get your money refunded for it??

I don't think I abused it at all. I was running a XD9000i winch with a roller fairlead, mounted on my Explorer and that was before the SAS. The thought hadn't crossed my mind to complain to Warn. I didn't like the idea of the stock(weak) bumper after I installed the trans4mer. I ended up selling it on eBay for more than I paid for it and the custom paint so all is fair. The buyer was well aware that I had bent it up prior but I staightened it before shipping. I love the James Duff bumper, very strong and well built. Now I'm thinking of selling it and building something custom. I change bumpers as much as I change tire/wheels.

my new additions...

i had to ditch the receiver up there but i like what took its place..
