i wasn wondering if when you get rancho5000 they come with new nuts and bolts because with the rears the nuts are on the underside of this metal thing i was just wondering if i could cut it off with a dremal and put the new ones in.

also i saw this 5th shock kind of thing mounted horsontally near the spare should i get a new one too or just keep that one

my heart is not set on the ranchos but i have heard that they are good i am open to suggestions

My experience on this one pays off for the first time on the site :)

To answer the question. When you order the Rancho's (assuming front and rears) they will come with bolts.....

The front shocks come with a full set of new bolts... so you can toss out all the old front ones.....

The rear shocks come with the bolts for the "top" of the shock.... IE the ones you are asking about... You will have to reuse the bolt that attaches the shock to the axle....

And NO you dont need to replace the horizontal shock... its one of those pointless things on the X...cause it doesnt do much....

PS - the rs5000's are really nice.....

So, What I mean to say is.....

1) These can be cut with a dremel.......

2) This one needs to be saved.......

When I was doing my aal we HAD to cut the old bolt just to get the shock off....we then used an arbor press to force what remained of the very rusty bolt out of the loop at the end of the shock. If you absolutly have to cut the bold don't worry...some pocket change and a trip to your local tractor supply store for some grade 8 bolts and your set.

Later
