I was left with a bad battery, after mine was stolen

Just like the title says. Sometime last night I had my truck broken into, and they stole my battery. I'm glad they left the stereo alone, but they smashed the D.S. window to pop the hood. They cut my battery cables, and put their crap battery back where my battery was. I mean who does that? Maybe they thought that I didn't need it....A**HOLE(s)!

EDIT: I didn't know where else to post my rant.

Jesus.... uv gotta be kidding me...

I hate people.... go buy a rot, train it to just lay under the car while you're in bed.

dang that sux bout ur x getting broken into

Did you call the police about it and hopefully they finger print the battery and stuff.

That sucks.

Stole the BATTERY? WTF?! WHY?
Theives steal some stupid stuff. Had my house broken into a couple of years ago, he did $2500 in damages to house, computer, entertainment center, one speaker, receiver, CD changer, and cassette player. All he made off with was a DVD/VCR combo, which cost about $100. And the fool must have gotten hot, left his T-shirt on the floor! They used it for DNA evidence to bust him!

Lmao, hilarious (about getting busted)

Cops here just don't give a ****, finger prints? DNA? what a joke... they really don't care enough to bother. They're more interested in busting YOU for something, even though you're the victim here... ugh.... anyways..

Like 2 weeks ago a friend went out and saw a "missing" cap in his rim (aluminum ones) when he got closer he saw that it was not missing, someone swapped the nice aluminum one for a black plastic one....

Right now it's sitting without insurance, tags expired it's my second vehicle and I couldn't afford to renew it.. No sense in call the police. I replaced the window today, $17 & the battery $28 at the u-pull. But why would anyone bother to leave their bad battery in the place of the other one? That's what I don't get. And why they left the stereo alone is beyond me...

EDIT: I forgot to mention, the battery is in place but my cables aren't long enough to reach it anymore. Thanks A**HOLE(s)!!

 That sucks, this was probably someone getting back at you for a grudge. I've seen this done before and that is exactly what it turned out to be. Finger prints is still used today, but if the perp isn't in the database it just sits waiting till a link is found, which could be years later.

As far as pulling DNA, that is limited to violent crimes in most cases as states have a 3-6 month backlog. Plus each time a defense challenges the DNA lab and wins, every DNA finding by them must be re-done.
I've had several of my cars broken into, this last one they stole a $13 autozone 3 plug splitter. Cost me $250 for the window because it was a friends car I borrowed and she got it fixed before I had the chance to do it.

About 10 years ago they had a great product making the rounds to fix things like this. It was a 10,000 volt shocking system. An alarm would sound if you were within 2 feet of the car warning you to move away then it would count down while at the same time charging the shocking system. It then made an audible warning that the vehicle's anti-theft system was active. But you had to have huge signs on the front, rear, sides and roof of your car with warnings.

funny I heard of a similar story of a dead battery. Next day guy found a couple of tickets to a baseball game and a note that said "I'm really sorry, I needed a battery and didn't have any money on me. Please take these game tickets as a gift of forgiveness.

Guy goes to game, house gets broken into when the thief knows he will be gone for 3 hours and cleaned out.

Urban legend? Maybe but funny.
