2003 4.0 280k. Noticed it would intermittently idle high around 1000-1300 regardless of in park or gear. Unplugged iac and the idle dropped, plugged back in and it's idling at the correct speed. Does it randomly. Same result shutting the engine off and restarting it.
Replaced newer IAC with new ford one.
Does it less often but still does it.
What can trigger the IAC to randomly stick open? Egr?
Temperature reads normal. 190 ish per Bluetooth obd reader.
New ford tps, clean throttle body and maf sensor. Idles very smooth, just randomly runs fast. new intake gaskets, rebuilt the injectors earlier this year.
