Is there any way to keep your clean IAC aside from taking it off and cleaning it? (like any preventive measures)

Our 92 x has a little more blow-by than I would like. This blowby goes unfiltered into the intake tube...

What I did (I don't know if it is confusing the computer, but so far so good).. is I took the hose from the venting of the crankcase (the hose on the oil filler tube) and ran it into my air box (bottom part).

I put a PCV filter in there and thats what the hose connects to. This way it is filter some before it hits the air filter and then goes into the intake.

I was thinking of putting a pcv filter between the crankcase vent and the intake tube (in the normal spot) but I didn't find any pcv valves I like. I did find some that were probmising (they were basically a box with a filter in it and a hose fitting on both ends). The problem with teh promissing one was that it was expensive.

This is assuming that is where your getting your crud from on your IAC (This is the only place I could think I was getting it from).
