idle issue

03 explorer 4.0,,,,,this car has been nothing but troble and any advise will help...car has a very rough idle. i changed the plugs and wires. no change except now when you put from drive to park it dies most of the time...im thinking vacuum leak or iac valve....it drives very well going down the road but when at a light, i shakes more than a 7.0 earthquake..i can unplug any vacuum hose and it runs the same....help...also it only get 11 miles to the gallon...less that my BB 67 chevelle...

although i would think it would be a sensor issue i would suggest getting your pcm flashed with the most recent upgrade. Just did that to my 04 4.0 and noticed a huge difference right away in idle and how the transmission shifts.

mmmm, i had somewhat of a silimiar issue where my X was shaking at idel.

What we did was replace the Resinator Balance, hope is did butcher that as the mechanice did it.

After he changed it the shaking went away.

what is a Resinator Balance? never heard of that.
