My explorer does this weird idle when I start it. It doesn't do it if it's been sitting there over night or for 3 or 4 hours. But anyway when I start it, it will bog down and then back up then down, up down, up then it will finally get an actual idle. Sometimes it dies when it does this. I cleaned the throttle body, the intake tube, MAS airflow sensor, and cleaned and reoiled the MAC performance air filter. My neighbor works at the local Ford dealership said it might be the cold air intake, I sure hope not because I dropped bank on it. Any help will be appreciated. :fire: :banghead:  :( :frustrate

Thanks

Brian

i had a problem similar to yours and carb-cleaner seemed to fix it

When is the last time you changed the fuel filter or ran some injector cleaner?

I ran some injector cleaner the first sign of it doing this. I haven't though changed the fuel filter. How much are the fuel filters, I'm running kind of low on funds, seeing that I didn't have a job for almost two months and just started one.
And where did you use the carb cleaner, I've already cleaned the TB and MAS air flow????
This thing is driving me crazy, because I'm trying to sell it and this isn't helping me any.

Thanks
Brian

Please Help!!!

Sounds like when my IAC started getting clogged. Every day when I was ready to leave work i'd start it up and it would idle really heavy, and occiasionally stall. Then it happened one day leaving work and it would stall every time I didn't have my foot on the accelerator. Replace (I guess you can clean it too) the IAC would be my suggestion.

About how much is a new IAC? Or can I take mine off and clean it?? What all do I need to replace it???

Thanks
Brian
