So about 3 years ago i was at Bucks Lake on a camping trip. While driving the bearings blew apart in the idler pulley, it was replaced later that day.

NOW I hear a little chirp/sand and metal type of grinding noise....coming STRAIGHT from the idler pulley bearing. Now i'm far from being an expert, but shouldnt bearings last a little bit longer than that?

I can wiggle the pulley from side to side not even an 1/8th of an inch, but enough to tell it is loose. None of my other pulleys have ANY play in them. Is there a chance that the auto shop in Quincy, Ca just slapped some bottom of the line idler pulley on there when i had them replace it? Or do I have somemthing wrong with my serpentine belt...like is it putting too much tension on the idler pulley and causing it to wear out faster than it should?

Anyone have any advice? Is there a better idler Pulley?
