I've been having a weird sound coming from under my hood for a little while now every time i start up my car then for another 5 min or so while driving then it goes away once the engine heats up or somethin. It is loud and sounds really bad. I had my uncle who works for Ford check it out and he thought it was the Idle pulley? Or somethin like that and he said it was missing a bearing or the bearing was messed up or somethin. can anyone else shine some thought on the matter? or what can i do about it? get a new pulley? how much would one of those run? thanks

Maybe you need a new belt? Mine was making a squeeking noise too. Thats what my prob was.

That's EXACTLY what it is. I had the exact same problem on my old 95. Had to change both idler pulleys but once I did, the sound was gone. The bearings inside the pulleys were shot. I forget hoem much they were, but I want to say in the $50 range for the pair - TOPS. Probably even cheaper.

well took it in today. had to get a new fan (mine was cracked), new fan clutch, new idler pulley and new belt. total cost $357. arg oh well they through in a free oil change yippee.

Did it fix it. Should have. Sounded like idler. Heard it from here. AHHHHHH! hehehe
