I bought a used Mountaineer, the lady that owned it before me couldn't keep a coffee cup right side up.
I took all interior trim off and steam cleaned the pieces, front and back, individually. Took about 2.5 hours and 3 beers, but the radio was on and the sun was out.

I'm waiting on my new carpet to arrive (OEM replacement "Almond") before reassembling the interior.

What would you do if you had your interior all apart? What would you recommend to take advantage of the situation? What projects/mods would you try and knock out?

Thank you

Other than washing all the plastic interior parts, and also washing the underlying sheet metal they cover (just needs a good wipe with damp rag), I replace any broken plastic push clips, if possible.

Probably lots of dynamat on the floor, doors, and anywhere near the speaker drivers. Adds a bit of weight, but also adds to the luxury feel of the vehicle as the soundsystem will sound tighter, and you’ll be more insulated from road noise.

Second this ^ Some sound deadening would be something I would do along with installing a backup camera and run the wiring for it while the carpet is out. Would be a good time to deal with any wiring related items for that matter.
