Chadwell Tyres in Grays. They've just charged me 199.73 incl parts. labour and vat for new pads front and rear plus new discs at rear.

They apparently have two suppliers and rarely have problems getting hold of things. They ordered the parts on Thursday and they arrived on Friday.

I've used them for many years for all of the cars my wife and I have had and they are really good blokes.

If it's of any use to anyone their number is 01375 399990 - happy to recommend them! (And no I'm not connected to them!!!!)

Thanks Keith - not too far from us (we're in Dagenham)!!!

Neil, look out for us then! We have a white 2000 X, running on an M plate, M77 EKM. What is yours?

It's funny how many drivers sit behind us on the A13 thinking we are the plod when we are poodling along at 65!

I do the Grays/Corringham/Grays A13 trip umpteen times a week and it's amazing what effect letting the V6 rip and moving into the outside lane has on other traffic after it's overtaken us. I now know how to bring a scooby down from 100+ to 70 in a 1/4 mile! I've got better things to do than play with people but even though we're sitting there, quite obviously "normal" it seems that many drivers won't take the risk.

Can get quite annoying, though incredibly safe, at times!

Keith,

Ours is a Dark Blue metallic one (don't know the correct name!) - plate is RDZ 8313. It's a 1998 model so the first letter is correct as it was an "R" reg plate originally :) A second gen. model as the number plate is in the centre of the tailgate?
Can be seen on alternate days doing the Dagenham to Dunton (Fords) run via the A12/A127 and back.
We got it from eBay for the princely sum of £2000 and are very happy with it.
And we'll be even happier once the recall is done and the hand brake is working again!!! :) :)
