I have a 2002 Explorer and I just replaced the ignition switch back in September. Now the thing rings the key-in alarm when the key is out, and the guages are all on including the tripometer with the key in the off position. And...it won't start. I took out the ignition switch, and the same problem occurs. I then found a 50 amp fuse on the wheel well of the drivers side that killed all of it. What does the 50 amp fuse service, and what's happening? I've also ordered another ignition switch that will show up tomorrow morning at O'Rileys.
