Drago, here. I have a major problem with my 2007 xlt explorer with the 4.0.Christmas eve my dash board(warning)lights lit up like a christmas tree.Service traction control,ABS,and Tire sensor failure.although the tire sensor failure light was already on.In november and december I had already replaced the both driverside sensors. So shortley after that pulling out of a gas station the automatic (sst) traction control engaged.Hence stuck in the middle of a four lane road.Good thing it was Christmas eve not much traffic.Got the darn thing off the road with quite a bit of trouble.I didnt know exactly what fusses to pull to get her home. The long and short she left me stranded. When i had the first wheel sensor installed at a average garage (not a dealer). We plugged a Snapon scaner in to the explorer. It would not get past the comframation of what vehicle it is.Oh yeh, when you buy a wheel sensor for one of these rigs and the ford parts guy says all you have to do is put it in and it will be fine.Hes wrong you Have to take it to a dealer and they have to reteach them.A expensive special tool of course. So i trailered my explorer home.Had a cousin of mine come out with yet another Snapon scaner low and be hold it would not get past the vehicle discription. If it matters this cousin is a tech at a local ford dealership. He told me were going to have to put this thing on the mother ships main computer(Fords). He showed me what fuses to pull to be able to move it around.ABS pump, and ABS control. That never crossed my mind while broke down. Also after the problem I replaced both front hub assembleys. The passengers side was a lil loose.Thought for sure that would have taken care of the problem.I bought this vehicle like a year old never had any major problems till now.The sad thing is I still like it.But if i could trust it enough to get to a dealer im afraid it would be gone.I think it only has like mabe 80,000 on the clock.
