Hi Guys I have an explorer 1991 and i"m been looking for running boards and I try so many websites but but nobody sells running board for this year, so I try the yunke yards but most the ones that I found are bended or not in a more or less conditions, so I was thinking if the running board from another generation of explorers are compatible with my 1991? can somebody help me out with this situation? thanks so much....

I think I still have a set of aluminum running boards for a first gen, but I don't have the mounting brackets for them. Pretty easy to make though, just some angle iron and such.

I was gonna put them on my Explorer for the kids to get in and out, but I am starting to think I never will. If i did ever get around to putting steps on my explorer, I think i will use tubular steps.

If you want them, we can probably work something out.

I have my factory style ones in the garage, I believe one side has a small dent in it where something hit it from below. Not had mine on for nearly two years, almost as long as I have had the explorer.

Took them off to get to the rust but never done anything about them.

Your a long ways off and these things are pretty heavy. Would just keep searching the junk yards if I were you. The explorer I pulled a spindle off of up here in Indianan had a perfect set of stock running boards.

I pulled a set of running boards from a '95 (second gen) and they fit great!
