I'm new here but not new to Fords

For the longest time I've owned Ford Trucks. First Ford was a 1958 1/2 ton and the next was a 1959 4X4 both trucks had 6 cyl engines and ran forever, owning them for over 20 years and about 4 sets of tires each. Sure wish they made them that good today. Anyhow I still like Fords and do most of my own work on them.

Welcome to this forum! A lot of things changed over the years. Back then everything was straight forward, but now you need diagnostic equipment to figure out certain issues. An engine sensor could affect the transmission, and make you think that it's a transmission issue while the engine feels fine. Each subsystem has its own electronic control module.
