I'm new to Explorer's. About to make a purchase on '92 Explorer on Monday...

Need a few suggestions. I'm going to pay a reasonable price of $5200 for '92 Explorer, fully loaded, automatic & of course 4x4. Tranny just replaced with new because of overdrive failure. Interior is superior as far as looks go. Looks brand new, paint is shinny and great looking, no scratches, dents, only minor stuff like faded door handles from black for gray... no biggies, under the hood looks very clean and also shiny. No oil leaks onto the ground, (if it was leaking there would’ve been some because it was standing for over a month already). Car starts easy, runs quite and soft, operation is very smooth. What do you guys think? This will be my first SUV. I'd heard people say bad things about Ford Explorers and that they are indeed good looking but can also be major problems when things start to go bad. Any general suggestions about this purchase?

Oh, and I forgot to add! THE MILEAGE!

The car also has 119 K miles on it...

The Ex is just like any other vehicle out there, you have those who love and those who hate. My Sport is a 91', as to this date, all maintanence has been from normal wear and tear. I love it and wouldn't even think of trading it.

i paid $3200 for my 92 XLT 4X4 last november and havent had any problems with it at all.
