Well, this is the first and major repair i'm going to engage (not by myself, a friend of mine is going to assiste me, in fact he will be doing most of the job). Getting the ring gear and pinion was a titanic chore, since the 4EAWL model wasn't really popular here, (even worst, i don't even think it was commercialized here at all) so after looking in junkyards and auction sites and classifieds for months i finally got it, a set of ring and pinion and not only that, i got the whole innards of the pumpkin.

So, any advice? Something i should know before hand? Any input will be appreciated. I already have done research, read some documents and my friend also has the knowledge being a mechanich himself. Some manual or any other input is really appreciated. Oh, one more question, which is the best oil/fluid for this task?

Which brand did you get for the ring & pinion? There are thrust washers for adjusting the backlash of the pinion so that it's not too far away from the ring or too close. You could install a Lockrite system to get rid of the spider gears. What is your gear ratio? Where are you located? Make sure that all four tires are the same size.

The equipment is OEM (Timken bearings, Spicer ring/pinion) it was extracted from another aerostar. I'm looking for the bearings/cups to see if they are still good to run or i have to replace them. Here's a picture of the whole thing:
