with 35k+ miles on it I wanted to take it in one last time before the warr runs out on it.

I'm having them change the fuel filter too...

The main thing they're looking at is the cruise control engine stalling issue that many X's have.... of course, they said they had never heard of that.

Good luck:D I hate when they claim they haven't heard of common problems:rolleyes: I get the same line no matter the make of vehicle. They hate it when customers come in armed with knowledge;)

One question I did have... The trans on my 04 is sealed and doesn't need servicing until ~100-150k or so, right?

The service guy tried to tell me to get the 30k because it has a trans flush and that they just "hook it up with hoses" because its sealed.

Fan clutch was bad, fixed it... battery was bad, fixed it... The dies while cruise control problem "we dont know yet, can we keep the car overnight?"

uggh...

I picked my X up. The cruise control issue "we're talking with Ford about it and will get back to you in about a week". They told me they will fix the issue even if I go over warranty mileage (which will probably happen this weekend).

When they told me on the phone they couldn't find it I said "just keep replacing parts until its fixed" but I don't think they liked that comment as much as I did.

get this in writing..that they will fix iot when you go over.

Does the car ever make a humming sound when idling? When does the car stall when it is on the gas or off. If it happens when it is off the gas I'd suspect the IAC. A trans flush is usually not a bad idea, but i wouldn't wait until 100-150k.
