immobiliser problem explorer 4x4 97 auto 4.0ltr

Can the engine immobiliser be diconnected/by passed/dispenced with/stopped/shut off/ and generally be done away with, as I am having too many problems with it, I would like to keep the central locking function operated by the key fob....if this is possible. If so, hows it done. All help/replies appreciated in advance.

Reading that thread would be a decent start.
I do not think you can disable the PATS system economically. It would depend on what problem you are experiencing. Would you be more specific about that?
