New member here, go easy on me. What have folks done to improve on-road handling of 2WD (01-05) Sort Tracs? I like my truck fine, except for its tendancy to dart around if you hit a bump in a turn (like an expansion joint in an on-ramp) and wander under heavy braking. I know it's a truck, but these tendancies are far waorse than the 01 F-150 it replaced. I've searched online vendors and really only found a rear sway bar. What else is out there?

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Randy

Number one, the stock shocks are junk and way too soft. I replaced mine at 12,000 miles after I got sideways and airborne at 70 mph when I hit a ripple on the Interstate. Get Monroe Sensa Trac or Reflex shocks, they're good and don't cost a ton.
If you want more, get the larger rear swaybar from Explorer Express. A lot of people like it. For still more, Addco makes a larger front swaybar.
Actually Explorer Express has a whole suspension system.
For the wandering under braking, possibly the front end needs aligned.

For onroad use and 2WD I would suggest lowering the truck some, an inch or so could help a bunch. I know that you have a rear leaf spring package designed a lot like a pickup, a bit stiff and tall. The early Sport Tracs probably weren't well sorted out then. Good luck,
