This is driving me nutz!! I cannot figure out for the life of me where this part is located at. Its called the IMRC (Intake Manifold Running Control). My 2006 Ford Explorer 4.6L V8 just put out an error code stating the butterfly flap keeps getting stuck open/closed. I tried looking for this part but I have never in my life heard of it. Can anyone give me a piucture of where it is located at or a detailed description of where it is located at on my 2006 Ford Explorer V8??

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

It is a solenoid. I will look in my manual and let you know in the morning it's exact location. The solenoid is prolly bad.

Well I looked in the manual. nothing about a IMRC. What is the Error Code?

I believe that what it is referring to is the fuel injection throttle body itself and not the sensor.

The error code is P2004 and P2005. The error states that it is electrical selnoid that keeps getting stuck and open. I have no clue where this part is located. Its called an IMRC (Intake Manifold Runner Control).

If it's anything like the 5.4 3v engines, it's called the CMCV, charge motion control valve? Basically another version of an IMRC, it should be between both heads at the rear of the engine, bolted to the intake. I haven't actually seen it for sure, but that's where it should be. It ought to have 2 rods connected to it, one on top and one bottom. Hope this is it and can point you in the right direction.
